hello i am new to this fourms i am getting a crestie very soon and i am already in love with them i have many other reptiles and i was just wondering with cresties is it right to put the uv light in the vivarium with them .

Hi and welcome to the fourms!

The need for UV lighting with Cresties is one of those topics that people seem to have different opinions on. You will come accross some people who say it is not needed and some who say it is. I personally do not use UV lighting in my setups although I know people how do and I can see no difference in the health or development of the Cresties. They seem to thrive with or without it.

The only time I would say that UV is needed would be if you have live plants in the setup as they require it for photosysnthasis (not sure if I have spelt that right!)

This questions has given me an idea. I am going to set up a poll so people can vote whether they use UV or not, will be interesting to see.
